This Global Goal seeks to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all people of all ages.
Many expectant Maasai mothers in rural Kenya don’t have access to essential health services. Giving birth in a health facility under the care of skilled birth attendants helps reduce preventable maternal and new-born deaths.
By raising awareness in the community, and with the support of community health volunteers, one project in Narok County has increased the number of mothers giving birth in a health facility by 61% in 3 years.
With your support, Comic Relief and UK aid have jointly-funded projects that have increased access to health services for over 2 million women and girls since 2009.
