“I love to come to school, I want to be wise” ~ Gladys, Aged 8
All children have the right to receive a quality education. In Malawi, a lack of infrastructure, teachers, and learning materials, means 34% of children do not finish primary school.
Meet Gladys who lives with her family in Phalombe in southern Malawi. She is 8 years old and is one of 108 pupils in her class.
A project at Gladys’ school has used technology to improve students’ numeracy and literacy through specially designed apps on a tablet. In addition to this, Gladys has been supported to stay in school and enjoy learning.
With your support, Comic Relief and UK aid have jointly-funded projects that have supported over 410,000 children like Gladys across Africa to access education since 2009.
