For the first time ever, Comic Relief is teaming up with social video platform Twitch, to pit celebrities against legendary gamers.
Kicking off today for one week only, celebrities including TV star Jamie Laing, Olympian Louis Smith, England footballers Dele Alli and Alex Scott, TV comedian Rob Beckett and Soccer AM favourite Adam Smith will play against some of the best gamers in the country.
The GAMERAISERS pairings will be battling head to head on their favourite games to raise cash for issues like youth homelessness, before handing the gaming baton over to the Twitch community to stream their own games whilst raising life changing funds.
“I’m a huge gamer and I’m really looking forward to taking on some of the pros and showing them what I’ve got,” Louis Smith said, “If you think you can take me on, put your money where your mouth is - it’s for a good cause after all.”
Over the course of a week, the pairings will compete trying to raise the most money they can. They’ll do whatever it takes to prove why viewers should donate to help people living incredibly tough lives in the UK and across Africa, and losers will face a host of live forfeits and dares.
The battle doesn’t stop there either – any gamer can get involved themselves by signing up to join the Comic Relief x Twitch campaign in the coming months. They can get a heads-up on any new unmissable action, download a host of content for use on their channel and on social media and enter some epic prize-draws.
