Weymouth
On Sunday 15th September Billy took on his final official practice race before the big one, competing with over 2000 athletes at the IRONMAN 70.3 Weymouth triathlon! Heatlabs
Following his incredible Weymouth race, Billy headed straight into 9 days of intense training in the UK's first ever heatlab! Here, he was put through his paces in the kinds of heat and humidity he'll face at the IRONMAN World Championships, getting crucial insights about how his body responds and how he can cope with the conditions. Final Training
Back in the UK's autumnal conditions, Billy faced his longest ever bike ride, setting off at 4am in Surrey and cycling over 142kms towards Bristol. Torrential rain, strong winds and rush-hour traffic made it a gruelling day, but another crucial test of Billy's ability to adapt to conditions and cope with the unexpected!
