Entertainment extravaganza, “Let’s Dance for Comic Relief” is back and returning to TV screens this weekend.
The star-studded series kicks off on Saturday night at 6.45pm on BBC One. Contestants in the first heat include comedian Tim Vine, funny woman Olivia Lee, professional boxer Ricky Hatton, ‘The Soap Stars’, and a super-group comprised of comedian Hal Cruttenden, writer and TV presenter Mark Dolan and broadcaster Shaun Keaveny.
Fronted once again by Alex Jones and Steve Jones, the competition kicks off on the 16 February and will span four weeks, with three star-studded Saturday night heats culminating in a grand final on the 9 March. Each week, viewers at home will get the chance to vote for their favourite act who will gain a place in the final.
The dancing celebrities will be judged each week by a panel of top TV personalities that will feature such comic legends as Frank Skinner and Jo Brand. Each week, the judges will choose from the runners up to join the viewer’s favourite in the final. There will also be a music performance from a chart topping artist each week.
Alex Jones said:
"Earlier this year Steve and I went out to Malawi to visit a number of projects funded by Comic Relief, and we can't wait to get stuck in, knowing that the money raised this Red Nose Day will go towards helping families in Africa and in the UK that desperately need it."
