We’re excited to share some fantastic news from mothers2mothers (m2m), one of Comic Relief’s long-standing partners, as they launch a new, interactive WhatsApp platform to provide vital health education and service referrals across nine African nations in over 30 languages.
The new chatbot “Virtual Mentor Mother Platform” (VMMP), will play an important role in getting lifesaving information to women, children, and families - it means they can access the info they need to keep safe and well when they want it, in a language they understand, and from a trusted source.
The launch comes at a critical time as the COVID-19 pandemic is accelerating in many African countries and further health education and support is urgently needed—not just about COVID19 but about many other areas such as HIV, as health systems are being severely disrupted.
This additional support will provide a timely set of lifesaving health information to women and families, while also allowing them to access information at a time that suits them, and in a way that is easy to share with their families and peers.
We’re proud to share this news on behalf of m2m, and if you’d like to know more, head over to https://m2m.org/covid-19/(opens in new window).
