In October 2024, after twelve months of intensive training and relentless preparation, Billy Monger took on the world’s most iconic one day endurance challenge in Kona, Hawai’i, all to raise money for life-changing Comic Relief-funded projects.

Billy’s IRONMAN challenge saw him pushed to his absolute limits on a journey filled with doubt, uncertainty, risk and absolute determination.

The incredible behind-the-scenes story of Billy’s road to Kona, the iconic race itself and the motivations which kept him going, is told in an exclusive documentary on BBC iPlayer(opens in new window).

Whilst Billy’s race is over, the daily challenges faced by so many people across the UK and around the world continue.

Throughout his IRONMAN journey, Billy was motivated by his visits to Comic Relief-funded projects, where he saw the reality of those struggles for himself, the critical support these projects provide and the essential work your donations make possible.

You can still donate to support Billy's incredible achievement and Comic Relief funded projects: your donation is more than just support; it's a beacon of hope for people in the UK and around the world.
