The line-up is announced - some of the UK's top comedians have been confirmed to join Mark Watson for part of his epic 27 Hour Comedy Marathon for Red Nose Day.
Already signed up to help him out during the endurance event are Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe, Rufus Hound, Sarah Millican and Susan Calman.
Susan will also be taking on her very own 27 Hour DressUpathon challenge – dressing as a different celebrity every hour, as suggested by the audience, and doing impressions.
The event will kick off on Friday 27th February at 9pm at the Pleasance Theatre in London. It will also be streamed live on YouTube and will be one of the longest events ever staged by Red Nose Day.
Mark decided to organise the marathon to celebrate 27 years of Red Nose Day, and he is calling on the public to get involved.
“Just watching for the whole, increasingly maniacal 27 hours is a challenge in itself, so if people do nothing else, they could get sponsored for that,” he said. “But really anything goes, and the more outlandish the better. We have some amazing stunts suggested for this time round. But we want more.”
Mark first took on an endurance show for Comic Relief in 2013, where fundraising feats included a man who had a custard pie smashed in his face every hour on the hour, a 25 hour hug and a 25 hour piggy back. Now he is on the hunt for even bigger and better challenges.
”It’s going to be quite a night. And day. And another night," Mark said.
"But alongside all of this, the show is about money (for Comic Relief of course. Apparently I don’t get paid – I know, unbelievable). So I’m asking the public to join my fundraising team by doing their own ridiculous challenge. Who will take on some sort of epic, self-imposed challenge just like me?”
Money raised for Red Nose Day will help people living incredibly tough lives in the UK and across Africa.
