Funnyman and Comic Relief Trustee, Lenny Henry, said:

It’s undeniable that many people are facing their own difficulties at the moment, making the generosity of the public who fundraised and donated on the night even more breath-taking. Red Nose Day shows the compassion of the public and their commitment to helping poor and vulnerable people both here in the UK and across Africa.”

The show, Comic Relief – Funny for Money, marked the 25th anniversary of Red Nose Day and featured comedy sketches from Simon Cowell and David Walliams as well as music from One Direction .
Red Nose Day stalwart, Lenny, added, “I’ve been involved with Comic Relief since its inception and I’m always moved by the generosity of people the length and breadth of Britain. On behalf of Comic Relief, I would like to thank each and every person who took part, your time and money really will change lives for the better.”
