Radio 1’s Ultra Marathon Man is throwing Jamie truly out of his comfort zone, as he digs deeper than ever before to attempt 5 ultra marathons in 5 consecutive days.

From his start line in London on Monday 17 March, Jamie’s run of a lifetime is taking him North towards the finish in Salford this Friday 21 March - Red Nose Day itself.

Red Nose Day is all about coming together, and Jamie’s hoping the nation will get behind him during this immense challenge. Because when we all go big and give big, we can support incredible projects which help children to be happier, families stronger, women safer, communities prouder, and millions of lives fairer.

Highlights: Day 2

Fresh off the back of his first ultra marathon yesterday, Jamie Laing is back at it again, attempting his 2nd ultra marathon in so many days!

With sore muscles and heavy legs, Jamie battled 30.2 miles through the winding roads and steady hill climbs of Northamptonshire and Huntingdonshire to his finish line in Kettering.

He’s had to dig deep to push through the pain, but the public along the route have turned out in force, from schools to fire stations to leisure centres, lining the streets to cheer him on.

Amongst those waiting at the finish line was Mariella, who Jamie met last month when he visited Empire Fighting Chance, a Comic Relief funded project supporting young people through boxing therapy.

Jamie’s reflection: “I feel very blessed that people are getting me, supporting me and becoming a part of this challenge. My body is really tired. I feel drained, like a sponge that’s really been squeezed! And we go again tomorrow. Wow that’s scary.”
