Our friends at the World Fair Trade Organisation are preparing for a BIG BANG!! for World Fair Trade Day on 9th May. It’s a global day of drumming and other events to beat poverty beat climate change beat the economic crisis.

110 million artisans, farmers, producers and supporters including Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Sir Paul McCartney, Annie Lennox, Eddie Izzard, Stomp and Sigur Ros have joined together to make BIG BANG!! 09 MAY 09 a wake-up call for the planet, and promote a Fair Trade solution to poverty, climate change and economic crisis.

BIG BANG!! kicks off on the date line and circles the earth in a rolling programme of events. A global day lasting
48 hours and bringing together musicians, supporters and performers, audiences and producers, politicians and voters, brands and economists, to open up markets and minds to a new and sustainable economy built on the principle of Fair Trade.
